Winning the battle

Genesis 1:3-4
3 And God said, Let there be light: and there was light. 4 And God saw the light, that it was good: and God divided the light from the darkness.

Matthew 6:21-24 For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also. 22 The light of the body is the eye: if therefore thine eye be single, thy whole body shall be full of light. 23 But if thine eye be evil, thy whole body shall be full of darkness. If therefore the light that is in thee be darkness, how great is that darkness! 24 No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon.

Revelation 12:7-9 And there was war in heaven: Michael and his angels fought against the dragon; and the dragon fought and his angels, 8 And prevailed not; neither was their place found any more in heaven. 9 And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.

1 Samuel 17:1-3
Now the Philistines gathered together their armies to battle, and were gathered together at Shochoh, which belongeth to Judah, and pitched between Shochoh and Azekah, in Ephesdammim. 2 And Saul and the men of Israel were gathered together, and pitched by the valley of Elah, and set the battle in array against the Philistines. 3 And the Philistines stood on a mountain on the one side, and Israel stood on a mountain on the other side: and there was a valley between them.

At creation Almighty God separated the Light from darkness. Light has power over darkness. The enemy of our souls does not respect these lines and will attempt to intimidate through fear and fleshly appeals. Jesus said “I Am the light of the world: he that followers me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life” John 8:12

If we stay in the light, cast down imaginations, stop negotiating with sin and unrighteousness. Take a stand for truth and lay aside every weight and sin that so easily besets us, we will over overcome the darkness. Yes there was war in heaven but  Satan prevailed not! You and I will face battles, intense Spirtual battles but like David who called upon the name of God, we will call upon Jesus the captain of our salvation! We shall overcome, we shall overcome….if you know the words sing!
